The temple consists of one single unit however other temple ruins stand a few meters away hence it is believed that it originally it was part of other temples. Many interesting items have been discovered at Hagar Qim, notably a decorated pillar altar, two table-altars and some of the ‘fat lady’ statues on display in the National Museum of Archaeology.
Next you will visit the Mnajdra Temple which is just a short walk away from the Hagar Qim Temple. The setting around this temple is very atmospheric as it is in an isolated position overlooking the sea with views of Filfa in the distance. The Mnajdra Temples is a complex of three temples. The oldest dates back to 3600-3200 BC, while the third temple and probably the most impressive was built between 3150-2500 BC. The middle temple was the last to be built. The lower temple is aligned to the sun in a way that at the Equinox (the 20th March and the 22nd September) the rays of the sun pass through specific areas of the temple.
Next you will get on the bus to drive to Ghar Dalam Cave where the earliest evidence of human settlement in Malta was to be found some 7,400 years ado. This site consists of two parts, the cave and the museum , where you will find animal bones and human artefact which are of remarkable wealth.
You will then go to Marsaxlokk to enjoy lunch. Marsaxlokk a traditional fishing village and Malta’s 2nd largest natural harbour located in the south-eastern part of Malta. Marsaxlokk is the best place to see the ‘Luzzu’ the colourful, traditional Maltese fishing boats.
The tour ends in Blue Grotto, Blue Grotto is located near "Wied iz-Zurrieq" south of the town of Zurrieq. The cave can be reached by boat, weather permitting, and the boat fare is not included in the price. The boat will take you inside the cave to enjoy the azure water inside the cave.
